“Writing the article wasn’t easy, I had so much thinking coming up, it was as if my thinking was keeping me company, sitting next to me or sitting on my shoulders, distracting me, saying stop writing you’re no good. Whilst it did slow me down, it didn’t stop me this time and you know how many times I wanted to write something in the past and that same bundle of weight would stop me because I believed it to be true. This time I thought alright, just sit next to me, I’m used to you anyway, I can still write the article anyway. So I wrote the article despite my thoughts which I didn’t do in the past because in the past I thought my thoughts were true and so I had stopped writing.” – Liliana Bellini
Liliana realises that it’s possible to experience the weight of her own thinking and still continue to go ahead writing a blog or expressing herself. In the past her thinking would have stopped her from doing so many things she wanted to do. Having this insight is huge for Liliana.
When we realise that our thoughts are only as real as the meaning we give to them, then we can move beyond our limiting thoughts and start doing the things we always wanted to do but never thought were previously possible.
Here is the article that Liliana talks about in the Nine Lives episode called “The joy of listening with nothing on our mind”.
