“As human beings we’ve evolved to have this misunderstanding that we have to be right, we have to be first, we have to prove ourselves and that we have to seek approval from others; and that we somehow need validating in this world. And without that, it’s just so pure – it’s this game of life, it’s this freedom and this oneness just to live. And I’m really seeing that more and more because of the fact that I can see that life works one way. And it takes so much off my mind knowing that.” – Denise Holland
In this episode of Nine Lives, Denise is reflecting on the Three Principles conference in London that has just passed at the time of recording, noticing the synergy between the speakers and the audience, seeing how the speakers were being informed by the energy in the room. Denise shares that for her it wasn’t about what was being said or how it was being said, it was about the magic in the connection between the human beings in the room, that collective energy in the room that was so powerful for her. Like in sports when all the players are connected to this inner space, that space that’s always there, when they’re falling out of their personal thinking, falling out of their expectations and their judgements, when they allow that universal energy to come through. It’s not about having to go out and find this universal energy because we’re made of it.
When we realise that everyone lives from the space which they’re seeing the world, we can change the world by being more conscious of what we’re bringing into form, bringing into form more helpful things for us personally and humanity, bringing in more purer and cleaner creations by having the understanding that our ideas, criticisms, judgements, beliefs all change the world.
Denise can see that as human beings we’ve evolved, where we no longer have to be right or have to be first at things, we don’t have to prove ourselves, and we don’t have to seek approval from others, we don’t need validating in this world.
Without all that, it’s just so pure, it’s the game of life, the freedom just to live.
Kaye refers back to a quote in a Sydney Banks book about “seeing what is and not what isn’t”. At the time of reading the book she took it as a way of positive thinking, but now she can see that it’s about being present and not thinking, and that thinking is “what isn’t”. Seeing what is, is being and what isn’t, is being caught up in our personal thinking.
Denise was reflecting on a Mooji talk where he posed the question “who is the I that perceives”. Denise realised that everything she perceives is a creation, regardless whether it comes from her intellect or not, so there’s no need to judge her creations because she created all of them. Just knowing for Denise how we create through these Three Principles, helps Denise navigate her life. Knowing that she’s not her thinking, knowing that she doesn’t need to be scared of her thinking, knowing that she doesn’t need to judge her thinking, allows her to simply notice her thinking play out, catching herself if her thinking doesn’t serve her or humanity. Denise realises that anything that doesn’t serve her or humanity is “what isn’t”, it’s not something she wants to manifest in the world compared to in the past where Denise would have happily manifested things that weren’t serving. Now she realises that she doesn’t need to judge herself for having unhelpful thoughts, not judging these thoughts allows them to dissolve quicker and her own awareness allows these thoughts not to come into creation anymore.
Kaye can really see that we’re creators and by judging others, we really judge ourselves, create suffering for ourselves which is unnecessary. Suffering is not a requirement of being human. It’s no longer about defending ourselves, and realising that, makes you fearless. Like Syd said “if people could see that they don’t need to be afraid of their experience, that alone will change the world”.
Kaye shares how when we just take the principle of thought and exclude mind and consciousness, when we only see the transient nature of our thoughts, we’re missing mind, we’re missing that we’re being guided by wisdom. It’s liberating for Kaye to see thought and also see this other space that we’re being guided by, which is ever present and available to us 24/7, that infinite pool of wisdom and consciousness. Pure consciousness is soul.
Kaye explores that it’s not just thought that brings us our experience, because thought is brought to life by consciousness, and our state of consciousness moves all the time. She sees that the less concerned she is with her personal thinking, paying attention to her thoughts, believing her feelings, looking in the direction of not feeling good, the more familiar she becomes with this other dimension of being, this moment to moment spontaneous action and flow of life. The more familiar she becomes with that space, the easier it becomes to switch from personal thinking into that space. In the past Kaye thought this space was so rare, it felt like a gift from the outside, now she knows this space is available to her all the time.
Denise shares a recent realisation she had which was inspired by something Mara Gleason had said at the One Solution conference about bringing into form via the power of thought and consciousness. Denise can see how bringing into form an idea, a criticism, a judgment, a belief changes the world, because everyone lives from the space which they’re seeing the world. So when we talk about levels of consciousness, we bring into form from that space and therefore the world changes. The world I’m participating in as a human being changes by my understanding of how life works. Denise can really see this at play with her children and how the world they’re bringing into being now is a hundred times different to the world that they would have brought in, if Denise would have believed her ideas, beliefs, thoughts on how she saw the world, she can see that their world now is more clearer and cleaner.
Denise can see how we all get to accelerate this evolution of coming back to who we are as human beings, manifesting changes in the world. People are not responding to the enormous amount of what isn’t brought into life, they’re responding in the moment to much more of what is. When you’re falling out of personal thinking, divine love and wisdom bubbles up, and you get to live from that space, which then manifests differently in the world.
Denise shares that when we fall out of the form of the three principles of mind, thought and consciousness, we’ve just got one divine creative energy giving human beings an experience of life, it’s pure awareness, aliveness, pure life with nothing on it. We’ve got this power, neutral in and of itself, energy, that pops into our mind, gives us conception, thought, this world, and then consciousness brings it to life and puts it into a little from, it’s just magic.
Denise can really see there’s no point in beating herself up when she looks at the design of life, realising that she made that design. She can see that we as human beings don’t need to agree, we can just live together without either one being right, because who really is the person that needs to be right, who is that “I”.
Kaye shares an experience about a recent business meeting she had where she could see that the reason there wasn’t an agreement in the room was that everybody had a different understanding, people came from a different space. Kaye realised that whilst there were different solutions to solving the problem at hand, she could see on a deeper level that the issue was only an issue because everybody in the room had made it one. Having realised that Kaye didn’t feel the need to solve the issue because there was no need to do anything right now. She could see that the only difference to her and her colleague in that moment was that they both didn’t know the answer to the issue, but Kaye was okay staying in the not knowing space, whilst her colleague was trying to find a solution.
Kaye can see that consciousness is understanding and that we all have different levels of understanding. Pure consciousness is complete understanding and that’s why we can sit with someone who is in a really low state of mind, swamped in their personal thinking, thinking their is no way out, but we know that they’re fine, having complete understanding, not needing to take their thinking seriously. The more we see that the more it is impacting.
Kaye can now see how much personal thinking people have which she can now discard instead of in the past where she would have believed it as a fact and allowed it to sway her decision making, thinking she needed to respond to the “personal thoughts” of others. She can see that in a business environment it’s easy for different people to speak the same language but come from a different place, bringing stuff into form either from understanding or fear. She can see that fear is like the aperture closing and understanding is opening. Fear is made up of thoughts and what shifts our consciousness is believing our thinking. So the less we believe our thinking, the more understanding we have.
Denise wraps up this conversation by pointing to the intimacy of our relationship to consciousness, where we can notice our experience manifesting, catching it, seeing what is happening. Seeing what’s going to happen is breathtaking for Denise, without thinking, just expressing from a place of love and compassion without thought. She shares that when we get caught up, it’s like a fish in a net, a fish that doesn’t realise it’s being caught, swimming in the net and then suddenly realising it can swim through the holes, because it’s just a tiny little fish. When we’re in the net we get all puffed up and when we get over ourselves, we become really tiny and can swim through the net, temporarily forgetting our size.
